Can you isobarically load an ABC box to get the size down? I know that in theory, by using 2 subs in an isobaric loading, you get the same response as with just one of the subs in a box twice as large. What I'm wondering is that say I have a 12 inch sub and to ABC it needs 2 cu ft and 1 cu ft. I can't spare 3 cu ft for everyday listening. I have 2 subs, and was only going to use one for everyday, but I can use 2. So therefore, if I could isobarically load them, could I reduce my box size down to 1 cu ft and 0.5 cu ft. I realize that the port length would go up to achieve the same effective tuning, but would this still work?

Absolutely.. Just make sure you follow the other rules for ISO loading.. 2x power, out of phase wiring, box correction and you should be fine..

I will be using twice the power, and after CES, I'll have way more power than I could possibly need. And I know how to put them out of phase, what box corrections do I need to make? I presume for the port size, I should just use a box building program and input an isobaric loading into a big ported box (1.5 cu ft), right? Then use 2 4 inch ports and what to tune it to? Like 30Hz, or maybe even 27.5? I'm looking for low end extension more than volume (I'll have plenty of power for the volume later).

Is this the longest running post or what The sad thing is every time I get on here I read it again one day I will build me a ABC box. But in the mean time BACK TO THE TOP

Is it possible to build an ABC box for 2 subs and have the two reflection chambers connecting to make all three chambers the same size? How would this effect the center port, would it just have to be twice as long? Also how many of you guys have built one and been metered?

I kinda wonder what my DD9015 would do in a monsterous abc box. around 10ft^3 or so tuned to around 37hz. Hmmm....that may be a good christmas break project here once the semester is over. What do you think Buzz, Csuho, anyone else. After hearing what you all said about the Audiobahn AWC12 I'm kinda curious as to how well one would work with a big sub with a bunch of power.
Any input....pros or cons?

Pros: It will cause bowel movements at really low frequencies.. Cons: It will be huge and you will need to be a little careful with that much power in a box that big ..

About what size range do you think I should look at for the 9015 Buzz? I have pretty much any amount of space. Mainly just wnat it to be somewhat listenable which I think these enclosures are supposed to conver that pretty well. My amp is a memphis arhc100 and i have an accumatch coming, so that will pretty much allow me to get a good amount of power to the sub regardless of the impedance rise presented by the enclosure. What do you think man?
Talk to you later

Dukk, I've got a pair of Punch DVC 12's, and I'm wondering if you could give me a little more info. on this setup. What size would you recommend? 3 cubes each sub? What would you recommend for tuning, 30?
Also, I know it would probably be better if both ports were on the same plane, but I don't think I can work that into my trunk. Would it be better to put one on the face with the woofer (facing back) and the other facing forward or both facing up? The only way I can see to fit this thing would be to have the smaller chambers in the front of the trunk with the larger chambers right behind them, if you can visualize that. Hope that made sense, any help would be appreciated.

I was thinking of getting a SUV which has a resonant frequency of about 70hz and 35hz so would an ABC box tunned to peak at both frequencies be better for spl?
