W00t! Sticky. After only the better half of a decade.lol
I think i'm gonna do another abc for my 18hc. The last one was something like 9 ft^3, but in the last minute rush to be done before it snowed, i tuned it wrong and ended up tuning around 37-38 rather than 32.
It was loud, and sounded good, but it didn't get very low.
Now I'm debating on whether to just redo the ports, and use this box, or build a new one around 6 ft^3.
I'm also thinking about makeing one for two fosgate punch 12's, around 5 ft^3.

Even after reading through much of this thread...I STILL have a question. If my enclosure design for a standard ported box goes like this:
4 cubic feet tuned to 25 Hz, 2 4 vents 20 long
Would I add to the 2.67 cube side of an ABC box to account for the driver volume, or not?
Example: if my driver volume is .15 cu. ft., should I make the larger box 2.82 cubes or just 2.67?
Same question for the port...if I put the third port (crossover port? series port maybe?) in the larger box, do I add the volume of the port to that side?
If these things are so touchy to misalignment, I don't want to screw it up!

heres the guts of the box i made, doubled up the mdf all the way around and triple is some areas. designed for my 18w3 i didn't want any flexing going on, flex kills you.

Feeling nostalgic, so i just re-read this whole thread. Now that I'm good and tired, and my eyes hurt, I was thinking about something.
Normally you have 1 port in the larger chamber, 1 in the small chamber, and 1 through the divider. Some people use 2 ports in each chamber and 2 in the divider as well.
If I were to use 4-4" ports in each chamber, and then 4 through the divider, any thoughts on how it would work out? Just wondering if the decreased pressure through the divider would have an adverse effect on the tuning.
I'd really like to go with round ports this time and 4" is the largest i can get around here. That would give me ~100 sq in. of area.
I could also go with 3 ports per chaber/divider for ~75 sq in. area, but the same concern as stated above.

I just felt like quoting the almost 8 year anniversary of this post...
One of the ABC boxes I built is still floating around my hometown between kids calling it "the magic box"...
