The 8" actually sounds really good in the ABC, i was not expecting too much but it really sounds good. seems to have a pretty smooth response curve too.

Next time i'd use bigger ports tho, cuz it starts chuffing at higher volumes. Could go much wider diameter due to box size

how does an ABC box compare to a ported box in terms of sq and spl?

those links bring up a security thingy, can someone re-verify the links? Also, does anyone have plans for a single 15" brahma, here are the specs if anyone wants to be nice and figure it out for me (I have winISD, but can't figure out how to measure the volume of the woofer and how much it takes up inside the box, or the port length for the tuning)... qts: .474, VAS 3.5, FS 26.00, Re .650 ohm, Le 0.00, xmax, 1.07, z 0.000 ohm, qms 5.3, qes .520, spl 87.28DB, pe 1600w, BL 7.83863, Dd 12.16in, Sd 116.09 in^2 (all taken from winisd, i think those are the stats for the mark I, i will be getting the brahma mark II)

I had an ABC box for awhile, it was ok, my concept hated it, but the RF HE 12" really liked it. it was loud, but I'd just as soon stick with ported

I almost never post here, but this topic has recently been brought to life somewhere else on the web. After about a dozen searches, I find a link to this monster of a thread.

I notice there aren't many pics of the designs in question, so I thought I would bump this with a few recent projects I have completed. Check it out:

mr flamboynt & dukk,

up this thread from a newbie.

i have a jl 12w3v2-dual 2ohms (FS=24.3hz, QES=0.475, QTS=0.449). Will this sub a good candidate for an ABC box. the manual recommended 1.75 cuft for vented box, will i use it for the sub chamber and add 1/2 of that for the empty chamber? can i use the port specs on their manual for all the 3 ports?

or

i will use 1.75 as the total net internal volume and divide it by 1/3, 2/3?

appreciate your great help. thanks
