Just recently dropped an 8" ABC in the sister-in-law's Daytona. 1.5cuft net net tuned to 32 powered by a Punch 40i. It slams - you would never think it was an 8".
Next week I'm making one for an RFZ 15" for work. We'll see what that cheap woofer can do!

so far the IDmax in an ABC box is the loudest single sub setup i've ever heard.... it drops lower and louder than the AW1505, and MUCH tighter.....
idmax needs about 5.5 cubes net, internal volume after ALL displacements for an ABC..... i use three 5" diameter ports, with the edges very well rounded.... even at MAX volume, it still sounds clean, but completely unrealistic!! (cuz its SO damn loud!) my car doesnt really rattle (cuz i "fixed" most of them), but my friend tells me that my car sounds like the doors are getting seriously molested.... looking at my doors from the inside would lead you to believe that its true!
on a strict mic i may measure 145db at a wide range of frequencies..... maybe a little higher at others.... i wont know till i actually get metered though, just a rough guess....
1 thing i do know, is that the IDmax in a ABC box is an EXTREMELY power efficient combo.... using a D2 is a little over-kill, so we'll chalk that up as "head-room" (lots).....
just some of my experiences. hope this helps,

here's what i've got cooked up;
fosgate xlc 12 chamber A = 3.06 c.f. chamber B = 1.53 c.f. (before sub & port disp.) ports = 4"x 16.25" both chambers after port/sub displacements are within .02 cu. ft. of the required 33/66 box division.
the box design program says its tuned @ about 29Hz, but it seems more like 20Hz!!!! i first started with 20" long ports, and have been cutting off an inch or so at a time. WHY IS IT STILL HITTING SO LOW?? the reason this is too low, is the sub bottoms easily in the 35Hz region. but the SPL @ 21Hz is INTENSE!! (windows FLEX!)
also the higher freq's just arent hitting very loud... they're supposed to be similar to the level of the lower frequencies, correct??
i'll probly end up cutting more off the ports to see what happens, but any technical info concerning my situation would be greatly appreciated.....
thanks fellas
i just had to bring this up cause this is for mrflamboyant, wil this work for the regular punch subs, as in the port size and the box size. i think the 2 subs r the same except for how much power they handle.

the best bet would be to enter the most accurate subwoofer specifications into a box design program... OR, get some specific info about the largest possible box for the sub being used....
the rest is simply calculating box size/tuning frequency.... which is universal.
by the way, it actually did help by cutting the ports down a little.... for some reason when you go to "tune" these boxes, they actually play WELL below that actual tuned frequency....
as of lately, i've been having luck "tuning" them near 34-35Hz, with incredible output @ 25Hz!! (45-55Hz is just as sweet)

the internal port that links the 2 chambers together, should it be half and half...as in half of it is in one chamber and the other half is in the other chamber or is there some special thing to take into consideration

Bassfreak, Bassbox software is from Harris Tech. It's a lot better than winISD, but the pro version is worth the extra over the lite version if you can afford it and have access to a meter as you can do some fairly specialised modelling in it.
At the end of the day though you still need to be able to understand the numbers that the program outputs, and if you want to do ABC or similar boxes you need to understand how to do that as well.
btw, I'm currently trying to think up a box with about 4 ports, none into the same chamber, I'm getting somewhere with it as well believe it or not.
Oh, and I prefer to run a design I understand better than the ABC box. An ABC box is a lot more complicated in principle than people seem to make out... maybe someday someone will produce a program that takes things from the basics so that you can have as many ports and chambers of whatever size as you like, then we can really have some fun
Oh, and BUTT!

Upgrading my box software is a distant priority at the moment because that amount cash could be better spent on getting my installs up to scratch, but when I do I will almost definitely try and get the Pro version. It's a great program, from what I've heard.
Win ISD for free is such a good deal though! I like it anyway.
How many chambers is this box you're working on? What's the Fb gonna be (assuming there's just one)? I like the sound of it...excuse the pun-hehe

I'm still considering how many chambers and ports to have... may drop it down a little.
It'll involve some experimentation to get the right sound.... the main aim is to remove group delay problems, extend the low bass and still have a tight punchy sealed sound. I reckon it's possible, and I should have a meter soon to assist my ears. Just need to understand crossovers a little now so that I can sort out phasing.
I run Bassbox lite, but I've messed around with the pro version, which is why I mentioned it. The help section in either program is absolutely awesome and includes ideas from a lot of people for making boxes.
I'm going to need some decent 3D visualisation to make this new box though.
