I am just about done on my bandpass for my friends dvc12. I only have one more question: Would it be better to route the port through the top of the box, at a right angle to the sub, or to go through the side, directly facing the sub? Going through the top makes the spacing on the sides of the port questionable. Plenty of room below the port (8") but only 1.5" on each side of the port. Routing through the side makes it 4" to the sub, and 6" on each side of the port. You really know you stuff, Audiophyle, I hope you can help me.

Almost all manufacturers will recommend porting on the same surface as the woofer is mounted on. This is the basis of most, if not all, CAD speaker software, including Term-Pro (old version, dont know if the new one allows porting on different sides). As long as your 2" from the rear wall, and about 3" from the woofer, all will be fine.

STILL waiting to hear a GOOD pair of HLCD's!!

If it dont fit, force it... if it breaks, it needed to be replaced anyway...

Thanks a lot for the advice! I put the port through the top of the box and it sounds fine.
