I am planning on running 2 Audiobahn ALUM 12's. They are rated for 1000RMS(a peice) and have dual 6 ohm coils. Will one 800a be able to handle this task. The sales guy at the shop said no problem(but i got the feeling he was full of it). I was thinking more along the lines of a D Class but this guy was really downing on D classes in general. But then again they didn't carry any. I really was looking into MMATS, Crossfire, earthquake, and Autotek. I am also trying to stay under 1000$ for the amp..700$ would be better. But i am really really new to all this. Any help would be great.

Well obviously the salesman was just trying to make a sale. I think the Crossfire 1000d would be perfect in this application. You can wire the subs together for a 1.5 ohm load and that amp will put out some good power. Or you can get a MMats class d amp and do the same thing. There are a lot of people on this forum selling both Crossfire and MMats amps right now so you should be able to pick one or two up for pretty cheap.

I pretty much figured that he was full of little stars:-). But I figured I would ask. I can't find a crossfire dealer here. And I can't bring myself to buy a discount MMATS without a warrenty.(over the net) So i guess the hunt contiues.

Have you ever looked into memphis class D amps? I have one and I love it. It is also alot cheaper (500-600). I think that you would love these amps.
