I would like to experament with a bandpass design for my 12" Rockford DVC. I currently have an ABC box and I'm quite pleased, but like most people I think there is always room for change and improvement. I would like to see the differances in spl as well as SQ. I've heard some bandpasses and they seem to have sounded slightly boomier but also a bit 'warmer' sound. How do I calculate the volume for a bandpass. I think it should be roughly 1 cuft on each side but I would like to figure out how to calculate tuning frequency as well and how to calculate box volume. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Mr. Lada! I am building a bp for my friends 12dvc in a week or two (depending on where we get the 1/2" plexi). I will let you know how its sounds and what the measurements are when I am done.

From what I recall, Dukk said that an ABC had slightly higher output... I am pretty sure mine hits louder than a Bandpass... Plus bandpass boxes are harder to design, you actually have to think and all that kinda crazy stuff...

I would not recomend using a bandpass, unless you are just using it to get loud, they typically arent as acurate as a ported or sealed and they have terible sub-mid transition
