Well, i think i have decided on the RF Punch 10" woofers. I plan on getting two of them. Once i get the drivers, i can get the spec sheet and give someone the info and they can plug it into LEAP or TermPro and gime some dimensions. Now, would it be better to build a bandpass, or ported? I pretty much listen to alternative, metal, techno, rap, and of course, bass music. Would a ported be better, or bandpass. I just dont want the bass sounding too sloppy. I could care less about how loud it is, thats what the volume controll is for. Also, if i do decide to go with a bandpass box, how do i build it so it has a plexy window? i have never really looked at a bandpass box before, so i have no idea how to secure the plexy window to the box.

Can you say DISTORTION!?

Hey, Ben i.
looks like you & me are in the same boat.,well almost.I've been through about a hundred ideas & ways i wanted to do my subs. I see you have decided on 2 10" also, but you are still thinking on what type box. Well
i'm also going with 10"s I had a pair of the es sonies sent them back today, and i'm going with what wanted to from the begining. 2 of the kicker solo's the 25th silver anniversary
crome baskets,I was going to try to mount a
pair of the regular solo's in the side panel
cavity on each side of the backseat.but I
got tired tring to figure out all of pain it
was going to be.
So i'm going to do what I wanted from the start, build a new sealed box,and use a plexi
front baffle, with mirror sides in the box,
and some carbon-fiber on top and bottom, and
drop in apair of the 25th ann. solos and be
halfway home anyway..
good-luck on yours !!!

Let me give you my opinion. Go out and spend some money and get a VT box. It is hard to build the same box for less than around 125 bucks or so. It has no screws it, it is duralined, and it pounds like shit. I have always built my own boxes. Hell i'm an ex-installer and these boxes out do almost everyone of my boxes I built. Sad huh? My 1 10 is doing around a 144 now with only 300 watts on it.

2 10's going for 150+
Wish me luck

Virtual Technologies is the maker of these boxes. Very efficient vented enclosures.

Bartender, I think im haveing problems because of the power im feeding them. Its only 130 wrms! The subs should be fed 200-250 wrms to keep them safe. I think the coils are fried because when you feed a sub lower power than it should be, you wind up turning the volume up louder and the amp trys to compensate by feeding distortion. I think thats what my problem was.

VT box's eh? Not a bad price either. Do they make regular port flavored, or bandpass as well?
