Roasted another TREO Engineering SSX 12.22 [Confused] This one lasted a whole 4 months. [Sad] Dealer said normally TREO doesn't warranty them out when the voice coils are crispy critters like mine. [Mad] I'm 43 years old, I don't play it at full volume !!! Sure I like to crank it up every now and then but if I hear even a hint of distortion I turn it down. Low pass crossover in headunit set by this stereo shop as well as crossover on the amp. [Eek!] [Eek!] Anyways if they decide to not replace it via the warranty, I'm most likely going to say screw TREO and start looking into RE Audio. Not sure witch model of RE's. A Single 12" XXX or a pair of 12's or even (3) 10's. My amp ( SoundStream PCX2000D ) Is rated at 2000 watts RMS at 1 ohm. Weird thing is it's rated at 1500 watts at 2 ohm. Just thought that was kind of odd. But anyways, kind of interested in the (3) 10's set up. What series of RE Audio subs would you use keeping in mind power output of amp. Want to hit hard, but SQ is very important. Car is a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero GLS Coupe and would like to have some trunk space for grocery sacks on the ride home from the store. I'm not 100% dead set on RE, so I'm open to suggestions. Not a fan of the stuff everybody and their brother has. Like to be different. Looking at RE's because don't know anyone here in Omaha that has them. Sure more then a few around, just don't see them often. What RE's have the best SQ that could handle my amp ??? Want to be loud and clear !!!!

Box is too small. Just what i had at the time. Never thought the wrong size (air space) could damage the subwoofer. Live and learn I guess. I will have a box built before I install my next sub(s). Wired at 1 ohm. The stereo shop called this afternoon saying TREO recommended rebuilding my sub as a SSX 12.11 DVC 1 ohm coils and wiring it for 2 ohm load. So my amp will only be putting out 1500 watts instead of 2000 watts. This is a daily driver, not a competition system. I'm praying they'll warranty it out or repair it at a price that won't zap all my funds I've been saving for electrons I really really want, but could live without.

I'd probably suggest RE SE 10s if you want to do 3 tens. They are great sounding subs and would be pretty loud for just driving around on that power (though, my idea of "pretty loud" for regular listening is probably lower than most).

Otherwise, I'd suggest 3 Soundsplinter RL-I 10s to do the same thing. I'm sure you'd be happy with either set up.

I think if you get 3 dual 2 ohm subs you can series each sub to four and then parallel them down to 1.33 to the amp.. which would probably be a good spot for you to run that thing at it sounds like. I could be wrong on the wiring though as odd configurations often through me for a loop, I'm ashamed to say =\

What RE 10's have the best sound quality that (3) of them could handle my SoundStream PCX2000D ???? I'm completely clueless how to figure the ohms when working with the (3) subwoofers set up.

Cost just over 3 bills to have it reconed. TREO recommended 1 ohm voice coils and wired at 2 ohm with the amp I'm running. Now I need a box built for my SSX 12.11 . I really can't afford shop price. Anyone in or near Omaha build boxes ?? I need help.

300 dollars to RECONE A SUB?!?!?!

What do these things retail for? Also that Soundstream 2000d likes 1 ohm, so basically you're only going to have ~1000 watts going to it
