Received the dual 2 recone kit from Fi, breaking in the coils before we mount it. 1 coil at a time.

A TRUE break in vid, no hoax! 2 walmart receiver amps 1 per coil, excursion low... suspension tight... (you would think it would be loose by now, what with all that earlier break in [Wink]

Next video, full excursion for at least 5-10 minutes, probably an hour or more. That one will be for Steve Callas, who I know knows a lot, BUT, to this day IDK if he seriousely doesn't understand basically any subwoofer can be played full excursion free air indefinately if done properly, or if he was giving me a hard time about "warranty void". Break 'em in 15Hz-30Hz ISH.... I've done many overnight break ins, Kicker has lots of excellent info on it!

P.S. I am pissed, those new colors for the Eff Eyye logo are awesome, and I didn't think to ask for a certain color, so I'm going inverted [Smile]

it's a custom Fi IB3 18" with dual 2 ohm coils. much thicker than the single 2 I had before.

just curious how do you break in suspension that is not attached to anything? i understand youre getting some heat to that coil, but the coil cannot really use its energy without a magnetic field around it, right?

the post with the pics and vids repeats APRIL FOOLS and shows how me made the coil smoke, and the second video was a different cone, the old one, the spider is cut

Nick scared me and said I might get noise with inverted dustcap, had 2 check it quick 2 make sure. Waiting on terminals, used gator clips 4 now. My good ol' Mello Yello bottle reflected green light, there's nothing green on the sub. Fi sucks!

Notice how LOUD it is free air... that's because it is an IB sub! I wouldn't let the 3 year old child come outside and risk permenant hearing loss and ruptured ear drums, because I think i was at about 186dB around 18Hz.
