off and on for about a week, pain in the aZZ!
notice I had to cut pieces just to lay among the shape of the section applied.just can't lay one big piece without it over laping or folding awkwardly. This rear application killed most of the exhaust noise of which was a huge relief especially when driving those long hours to events!. [Smile]

A Street Division competitor may use 2 layers of damping material on the inside sheet metal of his roof. However, the competitor may not use 2 layers of damping material on his roof and another 2 layers on the backside of his fiberboard headliner because this would result in a total of 4 layers of damping material in this location.

A Street Division competitor may use 1 layer of damping material on the inside sheet metal of his door and another layer of damping material on the backside of his door panel because 2 layers of damping material are allowed at any given location. On the other hand, the competitor may not use 2 layers of damping material on the inside sheet metal of the door and another 2 layers of damping material on the backside of the door panel because this would result in a total of 4 layers in the door location which is prohibited.

Sound damping materials may be used to reduce vibration when installed in accordance with the manufacturer's recommended installation instructions. The maximum total thickness of sound damping material applied at any given location may not exceed 5/32 inch (4mm). The sound damping application may consist of mat-type material, spray-on material, or a combination of the two. A maximum of 2 layers of mat-type material may be used at any given location, even if the total thickness of the sound damping material(s) is less than 5/32 inch (4mm).
Expanding foam may be used sparingly throughout the vehicle to seal small openings or reduce vibration, but may not be used to fill voids or other large cavities (such as the dashboard or doors).

Did you really gain SPL with the deadener ? I've seen mixed results with deadener, just curious if you did testing before and after and made notes [Smile]

Correct.

Back in 2004 Dynomat didn't respond well to any of my first box designs especially in other crx's so I held back on installing any kind of damping material in my crx until after I lost at 2006 finals.
Toxic Tuan used my 2005 design and hit a huge 156.1 with 4kCyclops and I had a 155.3 with 5kGoliaths and both of us used battcap 8400's.
5kGoliaths are .2 tenths louder than 4kCyclops on 8400's,thats a full db difference! I noticed in the pit stall that Tuans car was quiet as hell with very little vibration during his burps and mine was loud, leakin air, and rattling like hell during my burps. I knew he had used some sound damping material and he was using my same box design from 05,so I started to think like sh-t should I use sound damping material?...... NOT!
After finals and all during the winter I was contemplating on dynamating the crx but every time I thought about it ,I knew once I Dyno'd my rex and if it fails it's all over 4 good. so back in March 2007 I finally said f-ck it, what I have to lose,I'm already down a db ,bought couple boxes of dynomat and some other kind of deadener left in the shop and started to go to work on my crx for on and off for about a week as soon as I finished I hooked the termpro up ,tested with same freq, volume and box from 2006 finals and BAMN!156,6 [Mad] a 1.3db gain and hoo I was so pissed after the results,I just couldn't believe my eyes, I hate sayin shoulda, coulda, woulda but any true veteran should know why I was so damn pissed [Big Grin]

Yes he did, but I think he did only certain parts not everything, that was the advice he gave rob. Do one part of the car and test, he did the doors after finals and that gained him. After that his enthusiasm dropped and we didnt test anything after that.
