you think cleaning up the wiring, or hiding it under a board might help airflow, maybe be worth a lil'bit?

Nope! wiring on a set up like that doesn't make any difference what so ever. [Wink]

The wiring you see on the amplifiers are disconnected wires that are usually not there.
That pic was in reference to the question about the location placement of the amps in a crx tire well. [Wink]

Yep, almost there!

Db Drag set up is maxed out at 158.8 to 159.1
Two NsbG3100's would not produce enough juice if I went with higher power amplifiers.

NSPL set up is wide open at 159.5 to 159.6
Cyclops are 24" long and 4 fit inside my rex perfectly.Using the Battcap 8400's 160+ is very possible with 6k to 8k watt amplifiers IF they are 24" long, and then I might have to change subs with means I'd have to build another box design. [What] [Sleepy]

It is very cool that you share this. Killer numbers. But realize guys that this exact design won't work in most CRX's but will work in some. And I'm pretty sure Terry knows this. But plan on seeing some loud street C crx's this year with from this post. Good job Terry.

Thanks guys, this design will work in most CRX's if your subs similarly react to this encloser like the DD9912's.This design was built and perfected around DD99F series type subs, however ANY spl competition designed sub will work if you change the box volume to match what your type of sub likes. example DD9512G's I would have to build the same box but .5cu to .75cu larger and maintain the exact same uuhh............... oh almost gave my secret up. I have to agree, it's cool to see Terry do the inside and outside build of the box for us, it gives alot of rex guys a good start.

But anyone who has managed to get their rex really loud knows that there is more than meets the eye. There is alot of work that you have to put into the car itself to get even close to the numbers he is hitting.

Just as an example, if you took this box, and the exact same subs, amps, batts, wire. Went out and grabbed a bone stock crx off the street, that has had no work done to it at all in an spl way. Dropped this gear in, found your note and burped it, you would probably see a high 55. Which is a great score, but it's not a 58+.

Just to show how much the car has to play in getting the score, just having a crx does not get you loud by itself, just like anything else you have to put the time in and work at it.

I think somebody did a crx in NW a few years back, I believe he got up to or near a 60.

You can stand up 15's in the front, to fire forward, and then add 16 volts... [Eek!] [Eek!] [Blob]

Come to think of it, there are some crazy big numbers in USACi with rex's with a NW type box and 16 volts with alot of power, like 63+ I believe. Mind you that's in the kick, but still that's some big numbers.

Yeah ,no one has EVER hit a Street 160+ on the TL in a crx,
not even in SSNW. That's a pretty good stat to go after. [Wink]

Here's some spl results from my box design with DD9910's
This is the exact same box that certified 158.4 at Sam's Db Drag 3x at Carsile PA. and hit 158.9 at Fred's NSPL 3x at Rocky Mt NC.
Db Drag 158.4(two NsbG3100's)
NSPL 158.9(two Bcap8400's)

 -

 -

 -

This score(my TL .1 Above fred's) result is from the 9910 box design. only .5 db from the 9912's not bad for some 10's. [Wink]
