albeit the shocker neo is no longer in production, it certainly had its place and left what should be a lasting impression on car audio for all those who have had the pleasure of playing with them! What truely set it apart from all the others is it wasn't designed as a toy or gimmick...it was designed to be the hands down most billy badass motor of its time (designed and released in early 2004)...and that it was! Utilizing 180 ounces of neo 31 assured that this bad boy wouldn't suffer from compression in the same way that lesser neo and all strontium motors did! From 1-5000 watts of power it was only about a 1db gain over the signature series (450 ounces of strontium) motor...but where the true beauty began to show is in EXTREME high power applications! When your conventional strontium motor (even 10.5" diameter magnets) just couldn't continue to drive this baby just keeps on pumping as if it were its first watt of power...

Watch Extreme Scores in 2009 to see what a well designed standard motor can do. Hopefully SBN!
Why buy a Ferrari for $300,000 when you can get a $90,000 Corvette to match the performance? Just to have it ofcourse! But in todays world, efficiently spending money can get you an extra woofer or amplifier in the long run.... There are other ways of making a speaker louder on low power or high power... than just sticking the most powerful motor on it....
Could you imagine a SQ speaker that only weighs 3 pounds with a weak guass of only 400-500 that will keep up with any SQ woofer weighing 50+ pounds with a guass of 8,000+.... watch for new technologies coming hopefully by CES 2010 from myself and a VERY brilliant indivdual in California... sometimes you have to re-engineering from the beginning... and think outside the box of what is normal.
Keep your eyes peeled.... and no disrespect intended toward any of my friends in, or mentioned in this post.

Are neo motors really that much better? Is it like they need less power to move with the same force or something? Are there any tests or reading material you guys might have I could read?
