Basicly I was being an idiot and turned them up to loud blew them. I had 2 12" MTX 4500 series subs.
I am looking for 2 12"s again because the box is kind of stuck in place(cut through cab into bed, fabricated metal box to put sub box in), I am running the subs off of an Alpine MRP-650 amp, and I'm not looking to buy a new amp on top of subs(don't have the money).
I went to the local car audio shop where I usually buy my stuff and they are always trying to push JL audio stuff, and from what I've read, it's not the best bang for the buck. I liked my MTX subs, they we're real loud, but any suggestions you might have will help.
I have probably $300 to spend on subs if that helps.

alpine type-r's can be had for that price. they will perform well on that power, but will take a whole bunch more...if you are smart and keep a clean signal to them. just make sure you get the dual 2ohm version to match up with that amplifier

ur ballz are bigger than ur wallet!
I'm a highschool student, what do you expect? haha It's an 86 Toyota Pickup that I've been working on since I was 14(didn't run, re-bored engine, etc), its lowered, has wheels, painted, etc. I had 1 JL 10w1, and I liked it, i just wanted something a little louder,so I 2 12"s and the only way it would fit would be to cut through the cab, its a 2 seater..I don't want a competition system, just something that's loud enough to make people's heads turn, and my MTXs did that.
Also, are the Alpine Type-Rs the best bang for the buck around? or are you paying more for the name than the product? I've heard mixed reviews for them.
It's a sealed box if that matters at all

For the price you can find the type-r's...I'd say they are a VERY well designed sub and sound good.

Ported box isn't really an option right now, I think I'm gunna buy the Type-Rs and pop them in unless anyone else has a better suggestion/better sub for the price.
Thanks for the help by the way everyone
