how much will the se's hold on burps?

I threw 1600 to a SX and it could have taken more. I would say that if it was clean power you could easily give it that much power and even more if only for burps like you said. I played my SX on music with that much power too.

the sx has a 8 layer coil the se has 4. but thanx for ur input. one of my distributors has carried RE for bout a yr just really havent been interested now he is selling the se's dirt cheap.

I have put 1000 clean watts to an SE 12 and it took it fine for burps.

I have had two mojo 4kw's on a 15 RE MT Q1

I have also seen some one with four MA 4000's on a MT 15

I have also been told some one had four 400.1's on a MT 15

i know exactly what a mt coil looks like and they will not hold 10k+rms for more than a sec. try a 3 sec burp and puffff. nice subs none the less.

Just ask Steve Cook who has run 2 Memphis 4KW's to each voice coil how much the MT's will take.

^ how many times has he rebuild those MT's? not bashing the sub at all they have held there records and take a beating, just not the end all spl sub...

i have seen a few sub handle 20k per coil but they never last more than a few burps before slinky coil, shredded spiders or folded cone,lol..

I was going to guess Pyramid Hyper Pro... but then I remembered they only accept Hyper Watts and produce Hyper Dbeez so they cannot be compared to other woofers [Smile]

a couple of years ago MTs might handle 15k, but the last 8 recones I bought would be good to handle 10k for a burp

Yes, the cone broke with angle in enclosure.
Coil wouldn't break though.
