We took it to a local shop that had a mic (terra sound mic???) and my car shot off a 142.0 on music (2 Kenwood KFC-W3011's at 450w rms each in a sealed box each with 1.5 cu/ft)....Now I know this is not correct but I wanted to know what it would be in relation to a term lab mic. I want to say I heard the dude say audio control as well so it might have been an audio control mic? subs are in a zx3 focus so any insight on this would be awesome! Thanks

the terra sound mic system and audio control are almost identical measurement scores. they most always show a much higher # than the term lab system.

ok then so based off the number I got off the terra sound mic what would that equate to on termlab?

I would say probably about a 137-138. Most time when I'm metered on the AudioControl mic, it is 5-6 db higher than a TL. However, it has been as high as 10 db higher.

from my experience with the local spl180 it's exactly 7db high to my TL and a local shops TL... I think you're probably closer to 35 honestly.. put it on a TL and find out I'm guessing 135.2dB 45-50hz

under 160, about 2dB difference, over 160 about 1dB. Keep in mind that the 2dB under 160 varys a bit, new AC seems to be a little looser under 160, so that 2dB is going to be 1.5-2dB depending on where you are at.

even at 135 I would be happy since its setup for SQ. thanks everyone for the info.....oh also the demo car i forgot to say its a vw beetle (new style) with 3 RF p3 12s...sealed box about 1.25 cu/ft displacement running total of about 1500w rms using the same song on the same ipod as my 142db got a 144.1 on the same mic

my TL and the one at a local shop read dead on... the ac190 I was on was .3db down from my TL not UP DOWN I do 143.6 in my wife's car, it did a 143.3 and there were rumors about it before the show and they were right... so not all ac190s are 2db up from a TL under 160 just like 180s they can vary.. I was doing a 149.6 on an ac190 on music with my MT 18" on a single genXX colossus car closed.. so you're telling me it was a 147.6ish on the TL? blah you suck LOL dammit Jared...

Hawaii is much closer to Australia, not only does the water swirl backwards there, but so do the mics?
Honestly the only experience with the ac190 I had was with Jeremy Mullins a few years ago, 163.5 with four abahn 5000s and two apx 18s. I think Jeffrey got around 162.7 out of that with some mods and more batts... I put it around one dB difference. There were other people at the show with the same set up that were doing 143-148 that were about 2dB and I have heard similar things on the forums. It is possible that in three years or so, that AC 190 are more perfected, calibrated differently, etc.
That show sucked, some guy who was doing a 143 had 6 12s wanted me out of his class because I didn't have seats(well I had the jumper). Rules said nothing about seats:( Luckily I had Jesse there to talk to, otherwise I may have dwelled on it more.

Over the last year or so competing in Db Drag and Iasca shows together, I am always 1-2 db louder on the Iasca AC190 meter. That includes shows like SBN '07, Iasca World Finals '07, and Florida State Finals '08 where they are multipoint events.
