They are pretty inefficient but take a ton of power.. I have one in 2 cubes @ 33Hz and it takes every bit of my GP3000D @ 1 ohm.. it's pretty damn loud for a single 12 in a trailblazer. I'm going to experiment with some bigger boxes in the coming weeks.. I think 2 cubes is a bit too small though. We'll see.

Are you talking about how they mount to the box? It only has area in the corners of the sub to screw it down at. It should have holes all the way around so you can screw it down around the entire perimeter.

if you dont feel there is enough mounting take out a couple of the trim ring machined screws and run some drywall screws thru.

not effecient because the suspention too stiff?

dbass, there is guys out there that sell parts to recone that sub or dose it have a 3.5" coil...

trying to make me pull that beast out of the box? still sitting in the original box...but it was used for a while...just long enough for someone to unspring the coil

the basket just looks like a TC with a little change to the mounting flange, should be fine.

what i am talkin about is the trim ring that holds down the surrond take a bolt out and run a screw threw into the box. ^ guy said there wasnt enough hold down?

I have two of the Dual 2 ohm 12's in a 5.5ish cube box with around 75 inches of port tuned at 45Hz. They get plenty loud, and can take a hell of a beating, but as stated - are hogs for power. Running each at 1 ohm off of a pair of MTX 81001's and they really could use more power. But what can you expect with 4" voice coils and magnets that weigh 50+ lbs...

My customer has 2 of the 15's and hit 149.3DB last Sunday at a little sound off Boomin audio was running. The only thing they bought from me was the boxes, boxes were about 5.4 cubic feet and 102ins of port tuned to 35 hertz. they were using kole amps 5 lowrider batteries and a 250amp alternator. There was still more in the system but the customer got scared to turn it up anymore because he thought the windows would come out. Not sure if they would of or not but its pretty loud and for me I was happy knowing that it's the first time a customer was running one of my boxes and he won also.

got one off ca.com should be here by wednesday, I'll post some TL numbers and pix/vids [Smile] figuring I can get a 44@35ish hz legal in my wife's 04 jetta sedan... we'll see.. pair of x-fire xp1400ds strapped 1ohm. so plenty of power [Big Grin] box is rock solid, dual 3/4" mdf all sides. even the port which also has a brace down the center [Wink] so it should hold up rather nicely [Big Grin] here's the box in the car with a 4hp 12"

 -

one of my favorite boxes since it's pretty sturdy [Big Grin] ugly as hell tho. I may plasticote it and take pix before it goes in the car since I have a few days before the sub gets in...
