as of right now i have two brutus 12's running off of an ample 1100dx, and i am just wondering what size box and port these subs usually work good with

they spec for a spl box 3^ft each ported 2 35hz...and about 15sq" of port per ^ft

that would be 6 cubes with 90 sq inches @35hz

so 35hz, isnt that a little low for spl? if it will work it will be awesome to do decent numbers from a freq that low

if its just for spl in most rigs thats littlt low.... is this going in your jeep?
if so last 1 i did it was aroun 45-47 hz....maybe a jeep guy can pipr in

3cf each [Eek!] that is huge for a 12". most of the brands i carry like 1.3-2cf net. i dont remember a 12" sub calling out a enclosure that size sence the late 90s.

the solo's have alot more cone area than a normal round sub...

Brutus are available as a square sub too [Big Grin] didn't see it say anywhere that the bruti were round

that's from maxxsonis too guys...they can get much smaller....but i ran my 18's that spec'd like 3^ at 6^ bigger boxes do have some real good points .....i did state spl box right?

yes they are the round brutus 12's but im just makeing a temporary box until i have the funds to order two more, but i still have two more shows coming up soon, and yes they are going in the jeep

you got lots of room...if its just for spl shows...subs up port back 6^ft @ 45 hz with 90" of port.if you are ganna rool with some street bass to (dd), 40 hz i have a few of the 15's and they will be in 4+^ft each and the tec said 15" of port per sq ft was great

you will have good spl and still play music good...40 hz makes it more sql...and that good for a guy daily/comp too

a sq ported box for this sub is 1.75^ft and as small as 1.25^ft

about 45hz it showes +5.29 db in 6^ft@40 hz
