Topic: SoloX "splat"
This is the mounting plate that goes inside the enclosure. I just finished my box and the baffle is 2" thick and realized the bolts are too short for both the basket mounts and the spare. Can I get away with using regular screws for both the basket and spare? I'll try and find some longer bolts after this weekend. How do people mount that have extremely thick walls? Thanks --------------------Team PhatHertZ Team KICKER Team Powermaster 2005 MECA SR2 World Champion 2004/2005/2006 MECA World Finalist 2003/2004/2005/2006/2007 MECA State Champion

Go buy longer bolts. Make sure they are heavy duty, I think hardened or something like that. -------------------- Alejandro "Alex" Avila Sound Decision SPL Team - team captain http://www.sounddecisioninc.com

The only thing I could find at Home Depot was zinc plated machine screws. FYI - thread size is 10 x 24. they will have to do until next week. --------------------Team PhatHertZ Team KICKER Team Powermaster 2005 MECA SR2 World Champion 2004/2005/2006 MECA World Finalist 2003/2004/2005/2006/2007 MECA State Champion

yeah, these seem to do the trick. I'm going to search out some allen head or hex head, these flat heads are a pita. --------------------Team PhatHertZ Team KICKER Team Powermaster 2005 MECA SR2 World Champion 2004/2005/2006 MECA World Finalist 2003/2004/2005/2006/2007 MECA State Champion

This is how you mount a solo x the easy way. The bolts are cosmetically nice and strong but are way over kill. I used heavy duty screws when mounting my solo x and did it for years. Basically you use 12 screws. 4 screws for the frame and 8 for the cone. Give it that I did this because I was always taking the sub in and out of an enclosure and it made it a lot easier. If you are suing a solo x 18 then just use thicker wood screws.
