looks like you were trying to build a G-series, but took a db drive motor instead of an spl dynamics.(at least i think that's where the gates series motor came from.

No...the G series subs were built long before SPL Dynamics was even thought of.

yep it is a db drive platinum motor off a 12inch.. kicker frame and cone.. dual 1.4 ohm flat wire coil with what was left of a round shocker cone.. works good..

wow you blew on of those pl's huh. i have burped over 4krms to 1 and it holds up strong. did have a customer smoke 1 right after the other though with on 1krms because he maxed the gain and maxed the bb in a bad box design.

no the pl was already blown, all i got was the basket and motor.. at the time all i wanted was the 12 spoke basket.. and then i just decided to build something with all the old spare parts laying around..
