Bulit a box for 4 Gp12D2 subs and am upgradeing to Olympus 1612 subs.

Bulit a box 11.9 cu internal - braces - sub displacement - port displacement.

Tryed aero ports and they did not work at all.

Cut out a slot port. 6.5 wide 28.5 tall and 7 deep.

Theres a step in the back of the box.

You have the face and the port then 12 inches back you have a 8 inch step that goes up to conform to the shape of the car. I stayed a good distance away from that to avoid port disturbance.

Isent rule of thumb stay away from back of box the same distance as the opening?

[-----[____[ <- Front of box

Anyways.

It took the peak of the box to 59 hz in the car and I want to get it lower. to the 40s 50s

So what should I do .. L the port back ? or Continue to go deeper?

Should I run the port right to the step anyways? and continue to go back further?

Wouldent that cut out 8 inches x 6.5 inches of my total port area if I did that?

Just throwing as much as I can out there so I try to get my point across lol

Any Help would be good :-)

Box does a 146 right now at 59 hz

One other question...

If the port was to L behind the subs would the sub see that as the back of the box ?

Never ran into these problems being Ive always had big cars until now to work with lol

Thanks!

Jason
