I ve got a 9515g with a composite cone I m just trying to figure out if a memphis 4kw would be overkill for it. It is in a daily driver but it will mostly just be used for burps. Also any ideas for an enclosure? Sub and amp will be installed in an 06 focus zx3 (2 door hatch) along with an extra battery or 3 up against the rear seat. any ideas would be helpful Thanks

The G series DD's IMO are not wha they use to be. For daily, I would go NO MORE than 2K rms daily. Burps, 4K would be fine I am sure. Just be carefull.

Have not put massive Power to a 95 yet, but we put a 4Kw on a 3518 at .5 and it took it just fine for Burps.

No offense to the DD as it's a fine woofer, but we had two 9512Gs at their mechanical limits with 3kw on each in a friends car. Thats alot of power for any sub to be played hard on music with.

yeah, i ve got 2k going to it right now and it satisfies me on music just fine. i just wanna throw up some good numbers and i think that power is gonna be my easiest way to do it right now. after i crack the 50s(or maybe before if i cant get a 150) i think i m just gonna get another 9515 and run both daily off the 4k. just build it into a daily groundpounder. but who knows. its crazy the differences i hear on power handling for these subs anywhere from 2k to 10k. i guess it just depends on the application.

that makes perfect sense. not to mention some people probably have big amps,or a lot of amps and arent backing them up with an effective charging system.

or even with a good charging system alot of box rise could cut actual power down significantly. i dont know i guess anything is possible 10k just seems like a lot of power to be throwing to a 1500 rms sub daily.

4K on a 3518 is pushing it, and i am surprised it hasn't gave.

10kw is NO problem for burps; if you reach 14kw it gets tricky

2 groundpounder 3000 strapped at 1 ohm but we ran into power compression due to to small of a box. and the charging system wasn't there to back it up either. stock alt and 3 batteries total. but the sub took it no prob.
