it was a dealer, but I remember the 2005 SEMA show that it was unveiled at. Alice Cooper came into our booth, wanted to buy it right there.

Ken Finacal was the builder, it later sold for just over $300,000

Well I wasn't expecting pics to leak out or to announce this woofer until Fall.
Our speaker is 3.25" deep.
Is that not shallow? [Frown]
3" coil. [Big Grin]

that is a different sized speaker than the other one pictured though isnt it? 3.25" is a shallow mount pretty much anything 4" and less in a 10" and 4.5 in a 12"is...

Same sub.... it is the ONLY speaker sample i have built and tested that is complete in 1 piece.

I have worked on 4 versions with this basket.... this one is the keeper.... the 10"

Before this, I have had 30 different combos of coils, spiders, baskets, cones... etc....

Now to work on the 12"... and maybe 15"

A 15" shallow mount speaker would be pretty cool. I can just see the guys with the regular cab trucks now. "Hey what do you got behind the seat?"
"Those are a couple of 15's."
"No way, let me see."
Jaw drops with a [What] look on their face.
It would be pretty cool to do so. They might be kind of hard to get loud since there isn't a whole lot of room for a proper size enclosure behind a truck seat or below it for that matter. Still a 15 under the seat looks a lot better than an 8 or 10.
