I'm in the process of having my level 4 10's reconed into 12's and I'm building a new enclosure. I can't decide on the internal airspace to go with. I'm trying to keep the impedence rise down, but I still want a fairly decent sized box so that it is musical. I'm not worried about doing huge numbers for db drag, but I do want to continue in the bassrace 139.9 class. The best number I did with the 2 10's was a 139.6 and a 141.4 on the dash. The box for the 10's was 1.5cuft per sub with 53sqin of port. I think that the box was too big because my amp was only putting out 2053 watts rms at 1ohm, meaning the impedence rise was probably at about 4ohms or so. I never figured it out but that is a guess of what it was by the output of the amp. Anyway, I am trying to decide between 1.75 or 2cuft per 12" sub. The tuning of the box will be at 42hz. If anyone wants to help or has any advice let me know. Thanks.

That's kind of what I was leaning towards. It's funny that you mentioned to do 60sqin in a slot because I was planning on doing a 4.75"X13" which comes out to 61.75sqin. Sounds like we're on the same page as far as the enclosure goes. Unless anyone has any good reason to do the 1.75 or smaller I'll probably do the 2 cubes per sub. The only problem with my car is a horrible standing wave and it's hard to do big numbers on the dash. That's why I'm gonna stick with bassrace until I get a new vehicle and I can be competitive in db drag. I want to get a hatch or suv. Go figure, they're loud right? Thanks so far.
