i was looking at some re audio 18"sx subs and the power handling is 1000 watts rms, that seems kinda low, is it right? can they take more? thanks.

all of re's subs are underated it is so they dont get so many returns.

last season I was running a pair of US Amps MD3D's strapped @ 1 ohm to a single SX 12 they still work just fine.
