Around my area the local shops hold dbdgrag events and everyone hits around low 140's. i.e. 3 jl 10w3 hits 142db. In my extended cab truck I am thinking about running 4 spl12 and a Soundstream 10.2 amp. Every one around here has jl subs and a ppi amp, I want to be different. What kind of db's can i expect out of the four in a sealed box 1 cube each.I plan on putting some braces in my doors and dynamatting the truck for the stereo and tire noise, adding another batttery and a bigger alternator like 150amps. I want mid to high 140's so I can prove Soundstream makes good stuff. Also what if i put 8 subs in and another 10.2 same 1 cube each. It all going in a 94 Ford ranger supercab. Any good ideas please post them.

thanks

Oh yeah I am full of good ideas! I had a freind that had 4 12" SPL subs in the back hatch area of his eclipse and had one 1000sx powering them and did 146-147 consistantly...That is at the dash and DBdrag legal. I had 8 Exact12 subs powered by two Class A 10.0's in my mustang last year built in a flat wall right behind the front seats and went to many DbDrag events and did 152-153 all the time. I went to 14 and didnt place second. I have changed brands and vehicles now though. No matter what way ya go do them in 1 ft. sealed and you should have no problem braking 147 dB's. You have a lot less cabin volume than an eclipse too. Just make sure you electrical system can get enough power to whatever you go with.

Good luck!

Soundstream ROCKS!

One more thing. You might want to think about SPL160 or 170's. I had 2 SPL160's in the back hatch of my old fors escort gt with a 10.0 powering them and 148 most the time. No cabin mods or anything. It was LOUD for 2 15's. Just letting ya know
