i have 200 watts rms running mono to 1 12"rf punch and 2 10" mobile authority thump subs, all are 4 ohms each.i have the 12 in parralel and the 10's in series.i figure im runnin the amp at 6ohms.my amp is a jensen amp. in the book it says 4 ohm min. for one sub, or 8 ohm min. if runnin left and right spkrs.and one sub mono. my amp gets pretty hot, but ive never had a problem out of it yet and dont want to.is this the best set up i can run and am i right on my figuring of 6 ohms??please help!!! thanx also wanting to know what range of spl i would be running

So, If I'm reading this right you have three 4 ohm drivers, one 12 and two 10s? 10s in series: 4+4= 8 ohms 8ohm load in parallel with a 4 ohm load: (4*8)/(4+8) = 32/12 = 2.66666666 ohms. OR 1/4 + 1/8 = 3/8, so 8/3 = 2.6666666 ohms
2.66 on that bridged amp makes it run at 1.33 ohms. Uh-oh, there's why it's hot...

Sorry but there really isn't one.... If the amp hasn't smoked yet but it worries you, get a fan to blow on it and just take it easy when really pounding.

my amp is supposed to be 200 watts rms in mono at 4ohms. if im runnin it at 1.33 how much more watts am i getting out of my amp.what power class would that put me in or are the classes rated at what the amp actualy is running?
