C) If I have already built the box to a specific internal volume, will the addition of polyfill alter the response - ie. does the polyfill have to be factored in prior?
D) What is the rule of thumb for determining how much polyfill to use?

a) The purpose of stuffing a box is to 'fool' the driver into thinking hte box is larger than it really is.
b) No but a little in there can make the box a little warmer sounding - it takes away some of the 'bonk' caused by the cabinet.
c) Well, you can factor in poly if you purposely need to make a box too small. The best method is to add and remove poly a little at a time until the box sounds best. It takes a while but is worth it.
d) This varies a little but common practice is to start with one pound per cubic foot and add or, generally, remove from there.
If using a vented box, buy the batt type (for blankets) rather than the ball type (for pillows) and simply line one or 2 walls with it using glue and staples.
