I have heard a single 13W7 sealed in a nissan 350z and the sq is much better than any subs i've heard. it got very loud too. if we are talking pure spl then i guess there are subs that are louder but we are talking about sql here right?

Why yes I have. The TREO Engineering SSi sounded cleaner to me.

I'm going to say Treo on this 1 but then again anything between JL Audio and another company JL still loses. If your buddy want's real SQ go with Focal, The W7 can not touch them

Focal has an very nice speaker, sub, line they are pure SQ and very high-end, but they dont have both SQ and SPL.
JL has a very good product, and yes they are pricy........so what?
Does it mean that every JL topic must be flamed away for no reason.

B, you know if he's got dub 7 money he needs to get a TREO SSX..........

I am just reading the topic and Your right Focal will crush JL in SQ anyday of the week, I don't flame topics away I just don't really care for JL not the people who run It just the product Itself. If you want to see what sub Is truly better he would have to buy both and use his own judgement on that. I have heard both sub's In many different car's but none of them were setup for SQ. I these the only 2 sub's that he want's to run cause as you know their are many other SQ sub's out there.

i am not just set on w7s. imo i just think they will work out best with the amps i have right now. B suggests i go with ssi's cause he thinks they would be better than the w7s and would work out great with the amps i have already. as soon as i can find a local dealer near me i will hear a demo. but in the meantime i just wanted some opinions on this subject first.
i am the friend B started this thread for btw.

DO NOT buy w7s unless you are getting them from a dealer who will warranty them fully. The cones crack, and a recone is almost as much as buying a new one @ transhippers cost. If you don't get the treo, then you get a D- on your homework.

I have sold ton's of w7 and the only one I ever seen crack was hit with something thrown in a trunk. I would be willing to bet if two cars were built buy the same guy using the different gear named above, that their would be very little difference in spl if they were both tuned for sq in sealed box's. I do believe that you would be able to here the difference in sq!

The W7 is a Damn good woofer and is very loud for daily. We have not had a JL come back cracked either. They are a very very loud street beater woofer. On the mic they dont fair to well but if you want loud to the ear they are the one to go with. Put them in the recommened air space and they will beat!

Your right the W7 can be loud for street but for the price their is much more you can buy than them. My friend was running 2 10W7's and a MTX81000D sub would take the power but not for long smell of coil's getting hott,That's not street beating right there. I am Just waiting for the new JL amp's to come out and see how the W7's do against them.
