Just to add, the original Stroker and the new Stroker.
MTX Thunder 4500-9500 are called "SuperWoofers". They are great subs, IMHO! Built well and great SQL.

people who've actually used them are just about biased imo.
You can tell who they are. Those are the ones that count imo. Yall know who you are!
Not too many subs in their categorys *usually*...
I can say the shocker super is decent but not too well with power imo.
The MT is just a beast and if you can't get one loud might want to change your hobby..
I still come on and ask questions I know don't have a straight answer. Not too often but I still do it. So good luck with what ever you choose. Hit me up as your in HI, I might have something for ya . later

That 177.9 was hit by Team Loud of Finland with DD 9900 series subwoofers. Not Pioneer subwoofers.

gad damn... I just picked up a soloX 10" and I didn't even test it out. and you have me second guessing myself allready. George told me they were loud lol... Install is key, try swapping it with another loud street sub like a TRF/Cactus or sig12, DD9912, or MT get us some comparo's.
Also if anyone has and I need some storm X2 cone assemblies. I'm intrested in any size so I can get rid of my neo storm motors lol... Wife doesn't want me collecting anymore subs

tuning it higher wouldn't make it louder, it would just make a horrible peak in the frequency response, but it is becoming apparent that thats exactly what alot of people seem to want...

if tuned higher it'll be a little louder on a very narrow bandwidth. I just rewired it to 1ohm on my mm4000.1d and my rear end on my 05 titan went out ah chit happens.
But if you want to be a smarty pants my MT is louder than almost anything I've ever heard tuned to 28hz or 42hz on low bass music...
I know what'll happen tuned higher. Its loud but comparing it to my MT 18" or neo storm X2 15"s it isn't anything special especially retailing a grand a piece. again I'll have three more boxes soon and wired to 1ohm I'll know for sure. I bought it used off ebay though. And the coils are kinda black looking and it meters right at 2 per coil. I think d2's read 1.4ish brand new. And its smelly. If it is indeed partially blown it must be not too bad. But I beat more than one soloX 18" in comp with more power than me with my MT 18" and they didn't impress me either playing music . 6 of one half a dozen of the other.
and I just said I didn't like it much not it sucked total ass.

I'm sure looking like this when I bought it didn't help. But as I said I've heard fully functionL 18" X's that I beat in bassrace type comps and wasn't at all impressed over my MT. Thats on music though.
I know it affects how much power its getting because I slow simmered one of my storms and like the X it slowly got quieter. so I'm sure it doesn't have much left in it. Thats why you'll see my WTB add for a spair in the classifieds as of last week .
