a competitor in the UK (Gordon Conway) has been using DD9915s in his SS3-4 car, but has killed 2 of them, so borrowed some PowerBass PBX15D2s, they are runnning from six SPL-D 2000Ds @ 17.5V

this weekend he got his highest score of the year with 159.9dB (soo close!) and only 0.5dB off his best ever score with the 99s! [Eek!]

dunno what the price difference is in the US, but in the UK the DDs are 3 times the cost of the PBs!

so IMO that is some pretty good going!

Its probably because hes running 3 subs. That would be my guess.

they hold together fine, he will be upgrading amplifiers soon [Wink]

im running the PBXs in my street B car with 2 strapped 3000s per sub, they are doing "OK" but they are very loose now! [Big Grin]

damn, i mentioned this on another forum, and it was brought to my attention the owner of this car has actually added a couple more batteries before changing subs, so it isnt a 100% fair comparison, but still a good achievment in its own right!
