I went to a shop today and was told that it would be better if I had a sealed box in the trunk rather than a ported one. He said since all the bass is being released in the trunk, and since I dont have a wall, ports wouldn't do much at all. He said it would be different if I has a SUV since they don't have a trunk. Is that true?

Run, do not walk, away from this store. If they have a misunderstanding about so basic a concept then I wonder how they could do any sort of proper system design or installation...

The guy at the shop also said that the Rockford Fosgate DVC 15 can handle 1000w rms just like the Power DVC 15. I think he was just saying tat to get me to buy the dvc 15's since they didn't sell the Power DVC's. He also said that they stopped selling soundstream because it sucks, I know for a fact that soundstream does't suck. I am begining to learn to not listen to a word sales associates say at shops, A few days ago I was at another store and a guy said that vas was the enclosure size, I knew he was wrong and that also lead to my post about "What is Vas".

You post is the precise reason I love this website. I have found one shop in my area that is pretty good. Doesn't try to sell me anything I dont need. If I need advice I come here because people like Dukk, doughboy, and Wheels94 have been great. Most of the shops around me either say "RF sucks, JL is better," or "Eclipse amps are much better than RF, RF is for Kids." I hate that, why put down one product when trying to sell another?

While that guy does definitely sound uninformed he is right that a DVC 15 will handle 1000W - but still not as much as the Power...
