I'll be running 2 of either off of my V4000XD at 1 ohm for daily and comp. Just wondering what you guys would pick... 2 DD 3515's or 2 DB Drive Plat 15's Not really too much concerned about SQ, mainly SPL [Smile] Also wondering what the difference between the two would be considering the price diff (The DB Drive's would be a bit cheaper) so than I could be closer to getting my Pioneer 6600 DVD if the DB Drive's would be just as loud or very close.

DB Drive Pl15d4 is loud but must be in a ported enclosure tuned to about 35 hz it will slam just as hard as those Digital Designs subs and you will save a nice chunk of money!

Hey, did you ever meter your voltage\amperage when you heard this D4?

According to software, these Platinum subs have a very nasty impedance rise but of course i won't find out for sure until i get mine in.

Oh, and for the time being, i'm installing it in a 7.6 cu ft tuned to 31 hz. I know this box is hella large but i will take good care of it by adjusting the volume to ensure it doesn't over-do itself mechanically.
Later on, i'll start to build the box for it for comps.

no question the db drive PL will STOMP the 3500 series and should be compared more to the 9500 series. i dont know which would win there, my money would go on the PL.

now when the new monster db drive is released in a couple weeks,4k rms a hint we will see what sub is loud! problem is i only have 3600rms,lol.

u will find out end of next week how really loud the PL is.

a few of u guys know about powerbass now, i sell that too great product but the PL beats the XS hands down. that is the closest comparison i can give ya...SPLaudio

i don't know y u think the pl will kill a 35xx. the 35xx is a super potent line. i had an old 3515 well a pair when they first came out and it was a great sub that got loud with lil power but would handle alot of power. i also owned a pl 12 and it didn't like 1500 watts daily. i don't think i would have put more than 1k on it. dont get me wrong it was a good sub but not near that quality of a dd. i just love dd quality.. i don't think a pl is compairable to a 95xx no way. maybe the 35xx but not the 95xx sorry. i have messed with just about every line dd has the 99xx, 95xx, 90xx, 35xx and all have been top notch. i would buy more but the price has gone up alot since i last bought 1. so its on to something else might try the pb stuff next been very impressed with coaxs from them. and low line pb subs too so maybe some of the extremes. oh i don't think the pl's will like that amount of power for daily but i know the dd's will take it with no problems.
