just these two. so i am a small manufactuer and lets say i want to offer free products or cash payments to people winning with my product at a db drag events? so how do i let people know that i am paying up to a grand for a win with my product at some db drag and other events?
also how can do you explain intent to generate sales, if someone post what is the best battery to use and one says stinger, and one says red top then i come on and say brand x is better and this is why, it was not my intent to sell brand x but to let them know there is a better choice and not just brand x. yes the internet is great for the small guy who do not have tens of thousands of dollars to spend on ads! i ratter take that cash and give it to the people in the sport. many of us here spend a large amount of income to play this game, i would think we would have more ways to get some of it back? no i would never come on someones site and plaster buy brand x buy brand x just have you seen brand x and what it offers?

First, let me say "thank you" for the feedback. It helps to know how others think. If you don't mind, I have a few suggestion to make, in regards to your feedback.

Your business has a website. Would it be possible for you to redesign your website, so that the main page shows the details to your offer. Even a "pop-up screen" would be helpful. That way, anyone who visits your website, would read of the offer and could contact you for more information. Also, with the information on your website, you could include a link (to your website) into your signature file for this forum, and people could click on the link to learn more of your offer.

The scenario that you offered, is done on a regular basis. Instead of treating it as a "sales pitch", it could be treated more as a sharing of information. Knowledge is an never-ending quest. However, to quote exact prices of a product, especially if it reflects directly towards business offerings, could be considered a "sales pitch". But, simply sharing information about a product is greatly appreciated.

Exactly. I agree. But, at times, someone may ask a comparison between brand X and brand Y, and someone jumps in talking about brand Z. When the person who suggested brand Z, has finaincial ties to the manufacturer, then it can be seen as a less agressive sales pitch, but still a sales pitch.
This web space (the forum) cost money to remain activated. The cost of keeping this web space available, is payed by Mr. Harris. In doing so, he has the right to set what guidelines he sees fit. The forum was created, as a means to share inforamtion among the members of dB Drag racing, and is used as a communication channel between dB Drag Racing and its memebers. However, Mr. Harris has also kept the forum open to everyone, even those who are not members of dB Drag Racing.
The guidelines that I have posted (at the beginning of this thread) are merely a collection of guidlines that have been gathered over time. Some came from Mr. Harris directly, while others were determined by a collective agreement between the moderators of this forum. Being that Mr. Harris has trusted us (the moderators) to keep this forum running as smooth as possible, we sometimes have to rely on each other and not rush every single issue directly to Mr. Harris.
PS. I know that there has been times that we have not seen "eye-to-eye" on matters, but want to let you know that those past issues have no reflection on the above issues. Even if we do not agree on somethings, you are still guaranteed equal opportunity to post on this forum. I (and other moderators) try to treat each forum member equally. Even at times that we may not agree with a forum member comments, they still have the same rights as any other forum member. As long as Mr. Harris allows a forum member to remain an active member, they will be treated equal and fair. Thank you.

All i got to say about the whole thing is i hope this board is exactly the opposite of all the other ones and people can actually talk about what the board was intended for. All the members of the boards i've been to are way to concerned with everything besides the subject at hand, which is seeing if I can go deaf before I'm 30.
