I'm just thinking of sub ideas and this one seemed particularly cool so I figured I'ed ask everyone's opinions. I'm thinking of running a single 18" RF XLC on my punch 250a2. I'm looking for boom and although it probably wouldnt hit as hard as say 2 12"s it would look pretty cool. What does everyone think of this possible setup?

You'll definitely be able to hit a low note, but the higher frequencies are going to be a little quieter. All depends on where you det your crossover points, and how high you want them. I have a pair of 12's and I haven't heard much that will go lower then my subs will. All the way down to 10 hz can't hear much that low but you can feel the car shake, and the air blow by you.

I would suggest keeping the 18 LP'd below 70 hz, preferably 60. Get a set of highs that are good with mid-bass. Check on lord Dukk for port dimensions or if you go sealed it is OK to go smaller than RF recomendations. I would not, however, recommend going as small as my 18's are housed. hehe

To improve your mid-bass, if you have room, you could go with a pair of 8" or 10" woofers band-passed around the 80 - 350 Hz mark. If you don't have the room for that, then a good pair of 6.5" comps or even really good co-axials (Infinity Kappa, Boston Accoustics, Eclipse, etc.) would make up for some of the lost amviance (hell I can't spell today).
But, i say go for it, but wouldn't you need more power than the 250a2? If not, COOL!!
