I have a 12" Dr. Crankenstein SPL sub in a 1.5cuft sealed box, until i get the $ to get 2 12" xlc's I want to port my box and see the differance in sound. There's not room to put a port in the face with the sub so witch face should get the port? The sub is firing rearward in my hatchback. What sise and how long of a port should I use? I'm trying to get more BOOM out of this sub.

It's a little shy on air but use a 4" x 11" tube, or if necessary a 3" x 5.5" tube.

People still buy Crank???

I baught the crank because it only cost me like 30 bucks cuz it was a demo clearence sale. I wanted something to try out my punch 250 with and it showed up. I'm only running 65watts to it on one clannel of 4ohm sterio and it stell pounds pretty nicly. I ended up working out the formula on JLaudio tutorials and I came up with 4 inch port that was 10.94" long. I'm gonna put the port facing up because I've seen it done before where the sub wont allow it on the same face as the sub. What would be the bennifit of using a shorter 3" port over a longer 4 inch one?
