Topic: Ported MTX's and boredom
Since it's christmas time and all, i thought i'd spend some money on the family and put off the purchase of a new sub till the first of the year. So, i have two 12" mtx 6000's in a sealed box right now. Well i'm on vacation and kinda bored, so i thought i'd build a ported box for them. I'm gonna run both in a common chamber box, around 4.5cuft tuned to 30hz-35hz. I wonder how their gonna sound! Am i way to bored or just crazy!! -------------------- Alpine 7894 Jl Audio XR525-CSI's Infinity 5752cf's 2 MTX 6000's Hifonics 6400 Hifonics Gen X Hercules

excellent idea !!! one of my favorite all-around boxes i ever made was a 4.25 cf box for 2 12s tuned to 32hz with the woofers on the outside and a vent in the middle. DO IT!!!! you'll be glad you did!!! -------------------- H/U: Panasonic CQ-DFX701u Front Stage: Infinity Kappa 462.3cfp Front Amp: JBL DA3504 Sub: 2 Crossfire BMF XT15F Sub Amp: MTX RT2400x (need something more POWERFUL!!!)

Sweet. I was looking at the MTX website last night and they recomended a box tuned to 33. I think i'll try that and see how she goes. After christmas i'm planning on running a single 15 in a box about that big. It should be nice and loud. -------------------- Alpine 7894 Jl Audio XR525-CSI's Infinity 5752cf's 2 MTX 6000's Hifonics 6400 Hifonics Gen X Hercules
