Thank your for your interest in our products, and supporting our company in the CarAudioForum.com forums. Luckily, there are a few guys out there like you who understand the audio industry and have an open mind without opinions and judgements.
To answer your question, the ELX-48 drivers share the same motor platform as the tumult as well as several other drivers manufactured for applications, which are not marketed to the car audio world, such as Kleiss Sound. The main differences are the voice coil electrical parameters and mechanical compliance parameters which were optimized primarily for high-performance pro/studio and home applications. They still have equal capabilities in the auto environment if you have the right amps to drive them. They are "sisters" of the tumult.
I will have dumax reports posted on the ELX-1248 and 1548 hopefully by next week. At which point I will announce the information on the appropriate forums with support from Steve Ponte. I hope to set the record straight regarding Kleiss Sound and Adire Audio and any others, and carefully explain to many unknowing individuals the basics (not secrets) of how the oem industry works (ie. patents, licensing, manufacturing, marketing and wholesale distribution etc).
The "falsified dumax" episode was an error on my part to consider marketing these drivers to the car audio industry with the help of a younger over-achieving car audio enthusiast. I gave this person ftp access to my site and dumax documents of potential oem woofers which he requested to show his investors. He was instructed to post the data in a CLIENT access folder with the data as potential high-performance oem designs.
Unfortunately, he upped the parameters and posted the results in a public access which was up for ONE weekend as an attempt to impress his investors and hype the car audio scene. I came to work the following Monday with a nightmare on hand that I had to personally resolve. Well, resolved with the DLC, but as you are aware many have very negative judgements of Kleiss Sound on the car audio forums.

Yup, Tai has contacted us for DUMAX measurements. As far as I know, he is planning to send us two units. If the reports are made public, I will have no problem, verifying them, that they are in fact real, and accuate.

Their description of their motor sounds an aweful lot like XBL2. Did they liscense it? Did they copy it? If so, they will be in for a surprise when Adire's patent goes through.
I see some problems on their site. The main page says dual 3 ohm coils, while their motor technology page says dual 2 ohm coils. The picture shows two stacked magnest, while their motor technology page says 3 stacked magnets. Plus they mention lower Mms allowing better transient response when Dan Wiggins has mentioned many times that Mms has no effect on it.
Can't wait to see Dan's opinion on this sub, as well as those DUMAX reports. If the BL curve matches what they claim, then it probably is XBL2.

Oh, I see. There is a new version, that they made changes from the one pictured on their main page. The new one looks identical to a Brahma. The only possible cosmetic difference is I believe a thicker top plate, and the top/bottom plates not being powder coated.
Looking at the T/S parameters, they are almost identical to a Brahma.

I was told by Tai, that he had some 3 ohm VC's laying around and said that he went ahead and tested it with them. I am thinking that the final production may have dual 2 ohm VC's. That is what he told me...
So we'll see. These drivers are still being tested.
To leave you guys on a good note, he was testing the ELX drivers and he said each coil handle over 1500 watts RMS. So that is a total of 3000 watts RMS. Man oh man....

What band is that? It sounds familiar, and I listen to a lot of that music.
Anyway, here is what Dan Wiggins posted about this sub on Teamamp:
"we do license lots of things we dream up, including XBL^2 motors... However, if you haven't licensed from us, but are using one of the build houses that have licensed you still have to register. I haven't heard anything about it... And while we can't do anything legally until the patent is issued, if we find people not properly registering/licensing their use we will crack down."
