Ok well I have a few questions I would appreciate all your help. First of all I think I might have my amp hooked up to one voice coil. I have a dd 9015 with a jbl 1200 powering it. Well, there are 2 terminals on each side of the sub for the speaker wire to go into. Should both sides of the sub have wire going into it. Also a Tech at DD said jbl amps are very good at creating problems with killing subs. I was just wondering if you have any specific stories of jbl sending distortion or blowing subs. And one last question when my sub is pounding pretty well the lights on my bronco dim quite a bit. What should I get a batcap or just a capacitor, or maybe another, or new battery?

You have a DVC, both sides of the sub should have wire connected, a + and - on each side. 9015 is a great sub, loud as heck and sounds great. You need to know which impedence your sub is, Dual 4, dual 2, or dual 1 ohm so you know how to best wire the sub.
One of the only times I will say this about anyone at DD, but he is full of crap, at least about the JBL 1200. I had one and never had a problem. I have heard of extremely few problems ever with this amp. It is a very clean and dependable class D. It can blow a sub if you distort it by not tuning the gain correctly, but no more so than with any other amp.
A capacitor is what I would try first for your voltage problem for daily driving, at least 1 farad, if that does not work I would look into a high output alternator. An extra battery will just be an additional load on your system while driving.

Well I am sending my sub in to get reconed. The dd tech said a dual 4ohm would suit me best and give me a 2 ohm load on my amp. Is that correct? And if so how would the wiring be different from a dual 2 etc.. I still don't understand exactly how to wire my sub. There are 4 slots on my jbl 1200. -+-+ or whatever. Speaker wire splices and turns into 2 pieces and right now I have one piece of speaker wire spliced and 2 of the wires go into the left part of my sub. Should I splice it more and have 1 wire going into each side of my sub or use all 4 of the slots and have 2 pieces of speaker wire going into each side of my sub? If anyone could pull a diagram out on how it should be wired I would be very glad. thanks kyle

It has 2 "channels" (even though it is a mono block, they built it like that to make it easier to hook things up)

On your sub there 2 voice coils. Each with their own terminal(with a positive and negative connection)

Hook each voice coil to each "channel" on your amp and you're good to go.

So I will end up using all 4 "channels" on my amp correct? And If I get a dual 4 ohm dvc I can hook it up in parallel and get a 2 ohm load correct?

Wait I could just use 2 of the 4 channels on my amp. I don't know if 12 awg wire will fit in one channel of my amp though. As I have it right now the wire is spliced into a - and into a + channel on the amp then it goes down into tthe + and - on the left side of my sub. I was sending 1200 watts to one coil huh! That can't be good. 1 speaker wire doesn't need to be sliced going into the amp though I can just splice it to hook up both sides of my sub and have it going into 1 + channel on my amp for example, right?
