Hi,

Which would be the better option for street bass,

- 1x DD 9515
- 1x RE HC15
- 1x RE XXX15

All with 5Cu.ft tuned Loooow! in the back of a hatch.
All with about 1600Wrms also.(Poss more if needed)

Ive heard the DD9500 series are not the best for the LOW frequencies like 30Hz and below bcos of the stiffness of the suspension?..is this true or are they fine???

I want it to make my car rumble like f*** and be heard a mile a away! u know the score [Smile]

Thanx

Si

Why? To impress people and be 'better' than the people who can only be heard a half mile away? To say 'hey I've got something better than you!!' Only to be posting on here a couple months later 'somebody stole my system!' Man I will never understand this crap.

Im not 'one of those ppl' who drive around showin off their systems, on the contrary i keep it quite low key.

All i wanna know is which would be the best sub for reproducing those low frequencies. like For playin Rap etc?

Si,

Give your SE12's more power, or move upto HC's. Stay in S1-2, go on you know you want to [Wink]

9515s have plenty of lowend output and don't flutter around like other subs.

keeping control of the cone's movement is very important at low freqs. Don't let the Fs fool you about its lowend output Iam sure other DD users can atest to this fact.

Ok...might havta wait until tomorrow since I gotta go to my 2nd job(yea, I work a lot sometimes but gotta support my habit somehow) and scan a few pics of it. It's 5 cubes (internal) and 50 SQ. IN. of vent area 16" long which is tuned to around 35 HZ. This will be a daily driver box. I got it braced pretty good but I think I might have found a few areas that need a bracing.

Sounds Good!

Im looking to make an enclosure around the same as yours so it'll be interesting to see.

I may tune lower say 30Hz what d'ya think?, although a port plug seems a good idea 2, so maybe 45/25 ??

The larger coil is better able to dissipate the heat from large amplifiers.

Yah we had an SPL car with 2 9515's with about 7cubes each and about 12,00w each tuned to 55hz...at half power it hit lows pretty good even tuned high so I cant even imagine what it would have done tuned to 35hz...prolly break the window hehe. Still sounded good for SPL setup. DD's have stiff cones too and with all that power the cones didnt even flex...just the car did [Smile]
