Im designing an abc box for a friend on the s10 forum, he has a single HCCA 15" and a JBL 1200.1

I figured that 6 cubes tuned to 35hz would be sufficient, that would make the 4" pvc ports 8" long each correct?

this is going in the back cab section of a Dakota club cab...

well...I see no one wants to offer some insight on this.

And yes I did do a search to see if anyone had used an HCCA in an ABC enclosure

If you are doing 6 cubes and an ABC each port would be 5.75" long. 8" would tune it to just over 31 hz.

Buzz, I plugged did a box design in WinISD for 6 cubes 2 round ports 4" in diameter and got 6.11" for 35 hz.

I was thinking though, that the tuning could be closer to 30hz, rather than 35.

Also, would 4" PVC be ok for that sub ( I have no working knowledge of the HCCA) or should I upgrade the design to 6" pvc for more port area?

Hi Craig,
I used LEAP for my #'s, should be close enough. I like to use big ports on really high output subs but I think since you are using 2 ports the 4" should be fine. 30 or 35 hz should be good, I can tell you low bass should tear your head off with that box either way. [Smile]

sweet Buzz, so there should be no need in going with 6" PVC. Ill probably drop the tuning down somewhere between 30-35 prolly 32 or 33 [Big Grin] Im quite sure he's going to be very happy. Ill have him get pictures of the box when he's done with it :~( sniff sniff, I dont get to build this one [Frown]

I'm running my HCCA 15 in a 5.5 cubic box tuned to about 25-27hz, running off an HCCA 275g4. Talk about a ground pounder. My low bass in AMAZING....... Tune it MUUUUUCH lower than 35hz and it will handle low bass like you will not believe. It feels like an airconditioner at like 25-30 hz.......DAMN!!!! Just imagine if they made a series 2 for these subs [Eek!]
