so you think two e12k is better than REs for a small box and loud tight bass ?

I dont know how much space you got, post some measurements and we'll take it from there.Re's are an awesome sub, rated @300w/coil,they pound pretty good but more of an spl sub,the k's are more geared towards SQ in small boxes and they can get loud.ED's/Tech Support helped me out with some dimensions for a ported box,so now I just gotta find time to build it.BTW the reason I went with the K's was b/c I did not want to spend mo' money on a 2nd SE,meaning upgrading the amp also(present amp JBL600) ...God luck ...BASS ON!

you can buy the EDson the site or call for more information check out www.edesignaudio.com
the VC will depend on the amp you want, If you have a cadence A7 you want teh dual 4ohm subs.

the a7hc puts out maximum power at 1 ohm...so you would need the dual 4's. You wire the voice coils on each sub in parallel (see wiring diagram on our site...the + and - to the left of the sub pic goes to the amp. Not too clear from the graphic...tryin to get ben to fix that when he has time)...then wire each of the subs in parallel for a 1 ohm load.

it doesn't really matter which impedance subs you get, the main thing is to get them so you can match the impedance of the subs to the impedance needed by the amp to do maximum power.

Since you admit you're pretty new to all this A) do not turn the gain up all the way on the amp, it is not a volume control. It is meant to match the amp output to the head unit (cd player) output..so when the cd player is putting maximum voltage thru the RCA's the amp is putting out max power.
B) use the subsonic filter on the amp
C) listen for distortion from the subs, if you hear it, turn it down. The warranty doesn't cover product abuse. But 600W per sub will be fine [Smile]

At 2 ohms it does around 8-900w at 1ohm 14-1600w...I would go for some 15"'s for that. But no lower than e12k...700w eventually would be a little harsh on the 10.
