Ok, like would my bass be improved any if i faced my box to the rear of the car as opposed to the way it is now? Its faceing forward right now. Its a wedge style box and has a pair of ports on the top. Im just curious as to does it or not? Because i dont have enough speaker wire right now to try it, and im not gona go out and buy some more just to try it and find out it doesnt make a diff.

Let me give you a little tip Ben... Use 16 awg wire, its all you need, I run 1400watts through 16 awg... 12 awg wire is silly and un-necessary for under 1500watts...

Face the subs towards the back of the car. What kinda car is it anyway. Also use a high grade zero oxygen cable. Between 8-12 gauge. Remember wattage is power to. To small of cable to little watts to the speaker.

I've always liked them facing the back of the car. Not sure if it gives you lots of extra spl, but it has always sounded better to me, jmo.

If you have the cash to do as doughboy did, then that'd work, or just build a wall .

As for wire, most manufacturers that send wire with their speakers send the 14 - 16 guage stuff. Same with home speakers.

Voltage traveling along the speaker wires?
Let's take a small and large RF amp for
example.
Small RF amp stereo: 19 volts
Small RF amp bridged: 36 volts
Big RF amp stereo: 50+ volts
Big RF amp bridged: 100+ volts

Cash to do the install I did? My install cost me 30 bucks. 1 4x8 1/2 peice of plywood and 2 rolls of trunk carpet. "30 wires doesnt include speaker wire" Looks pretty freakin nice. For a wall It would cost more more more. Ive got $200 saved so I can make my future wall look pretty good. "Guessing 4 4x8 1/2 plywood, Lots-o-plexi glass, Few lights, and carpet"

I say just spend 10$ buy the wire and try it. In my car my sub sounds much better facing back but the best way is to try it and find out.

I've been told if you face your subs rearward in a coupe it give the sound wave time to "unfold". Well I tried facing my subs 3 different ways. Up off of the glass. (I have a removeable rear deck)
back and forward (I have fold down seats)
it seemed like vibrated me more when it was facing back but I also go my entire back of my car to vibrate to and I got the worse sounding rattles I've ever heard..
Forward I've not sure if I acutally tried it the way I want to have it becuase I just faced the boxes up not sealing the entire trunk area from the car like I've been told to do..

Yea. After i got my new ported box i stretched the wires just barely long enough to reach when i turned my box around. The bass didnt really change that i noticed.. but i didnt listen to it long enough. I just know i found alot of places on my trunk where Dynamat is needed.. hehe
