Could get yourself a copy of bassbox pro and measure them, or parts express do a woofer tester. Bassbox pro is cheaper and useful though.

Bass Box pro doesnt test the drivers it self ... ya need to have a signal generator / a SPL meter or "frequency counter" and good volt meters + ohm meter. plus a few other things.

Can get test Cds with tones on from good hi fi shops, these will do just fine, or you can write one of your own. Stick this in a normal CD player and there's your signal.

1k resistor is hardly difficult to find, same with an amp.

DMM is hardly the peak of modern technology, and the results it gives will be good enough for no audible difference.
