Right now I have a plymouth sundance my front stage is ND-25's and R5's midrange 5 1/4 speakers I am powering these with the front left and front right channels of a PPI A404 I have the tweeters in the upper corners of the dash and aimed up and at the center of the car. the midbass drivers are in my stock locations with some custom baffels. and 2 kicker comp 10's run by the 2 rear channels of the A404
Now it's time to upgrade everything. First thing I want to do is get my front stage competition ready (sell everything kicker!!)
I have bought a MB Quart RSB215 component set. I realize that the 5 1/4's won't give me the bass up front that most competition cars have so I have also decided to get a set of 8" Midbass drivers but which type I'm not sure yet maybe MB Quart QM200TX-3's just like the Panasonic BMW M3 in CAE's august issue.
What do you guys think would give me the best sound quality with speaker placement and that sort of thing I was thinking about kicks for the 8" and keeping the tweeters in the dask but built them some fiberglass pods to raise the front stage and improve imaging and put the mb quart 5 1/4's in the stock location that is in the upper door with my baffels
Thanks for your time

311, why are you getting rid of the R5.2 set ? Reason I ask,I was thinking of going with the R 5.2. Are you not pleased with them ? I've heard good reviews on them. But i haven't heard them yet. Have you had problems with them? Do you like their sound ? guess not ha. Any way let me know,& good luck.

I didn't buy that component set I bought it off of a kid who bought them seperatly the ND 25's are nice they're silk domes and they're not harsh at all and they're really loud the r5's *****they don't have an accurate bass response but I guess that because they're only a 5 1/4 speaker thats alright. I had to have someone built me crossovers for them too and these are a lot better than the ones that come with them. They're an alright component set. they're just not the kind of sound quality that I want and they don't compare to Quarts

Ok. Seal off the upper mount in your doors. Directly below that mount, beneath the window crank, there is room for a 6.5", if you open the hole correctly. I would get the best 6.5 or 5 inch sub you can, dynamat the doors, mount the woofers, and build yourself some kickpanels using 5.25s or maybe a focal 4" mid and those nd25 tweets. Otherwise, get you an a/d/s/ "a" series component set. That car should sound awesome.

so don't even use the upper door location.. I already have a mb Quart RSB 215 component set it has 3/4 inch tweeters and 5 1/4's so I should put them in the kickpanels and get a 6.5 midbass sub in put it in the lower door and get rid of all the kicker stuff should I built fiberglass pods for my lower doors so I can aim it up a bit too.
