How big is your sealed box? Do you have enough air space? Is it completely air tight? Are you bracing it? How many watts are you pushing to each sub?

I have always used sealed and they have hit hard for me. I had 2 punch 12's before in a sealed and they sounded real nice(running off my boss ava-570...check classified if you're interested in it...hehe ).

Also..you said "get" a ported or bandpass.

Did you mean buy a prefab box?

You'll do a lot better if you build it yourself and tune it properly. Or if you can't build it...get someone who can to do it.

Dukk will give you the size for ported I'm sure...

Those 12's should sound good in a sealed box. I have a pair of DVC 12's right now in my trunk. There sealed and doing the same as my 4 XMAX ten's were. Seal your box till you can hardly move your speaker in and out with your hand. Fiberglass, silicone, liquid nails, and screw the box together, brace it in at least 2 places and use gaskets. Those subs should do there limit and sound really nice.

quick question. where do i get these gaskets? because i realize that for a sealed box to put its max potental out, it needs to be pretty much air tight. taht and run max power to the subs. where do i get them? just stop by my installers and pick them up or what?
