I was thinking of getting 4 10" MTX 3000's and I was wondering what everyone though about the 3000's. If you can tell me what you think. I won't be doing any spl but I want some thump. this will be in a sealed box.

they aren't bad subs, but are the low end of the MTX line, what kind of amp do you plan on using? a selaed box is going to require more power than a ported would.

If the price is right go for it. Personally, I think they are better than the Blue Thunders but not as good as the 5000's.

I was thinking of using a profile 800sx which I could run 150 watts per sub at a 2 ohm load. How much room would I need to port the box if I was to port it.

Hey man! Glad to hear someone is thinking of useing the T3000's. I own a pair of the 12" ones. They sound great for their price. Not a very good SPL sub because the cone is a bit light weight, but other than that use them. Im useing the 4 ohm series. The first enclosure they were in was a MTX Sealed box that gave the drivers about 1.5 cubes each. I ran it with my Power Acoustik 500x2 which fed them 130 wrms each. Now i have a new box, MTX ported one that gives them roughly 2 cubes each. Tell you the truth, i miss my sealed box! The bass was nice and tight, on music with lower volume, the drum heads on like metalica and tool, omg so tight and fast. But i wish i had a bigger amplifire! Get the biggest amp you can get to power these puppies. If you are only planning to run 150 to them, get a ported. But if you can come up with the cash to power them 200 each at least, maybe no lower than 190 do it man. And for SQ, stick them in the sealed box. This is just my opinion since i have tried sealed ant ported. What do you think man?

Can you say DISTORTION!?
