I just bought my Rockford Fosgate Punch 75.2 amp and I like it well and all since I got it for just $200 new. So I had some RF Punch Original subs and they sound alright, but you know, they could be better, lots better. I listen to heavy metal like Metallica (older stuff), Slayer, Coal Chamber, Soul Fly and even some rap like Beastie Boys or Kid Rock (whatever genre you want to classify him in). So I like bass that really hits you in the gut and is real tight. I'll probably run the subs at 2 ohms mono (yeah, I got a fan) with the Punch 75.2, because I figure that way it puts out around 80-105 watts RMS per channel. I've looked at a bunch of subs but can't make up my mind. Money is a big issue since I don't make much or I have to pay crap like insurance and stuff. So I was looking at Hsu Research subs but they are all out because I called so now it's either Punch XLC's, JL 12w3's, MTX 5000 12's, or 2 Pioneer 12" Diamondplates. No matter which subs it'll be 2 12's in a dual box in my trunk with a volume of 1.47 cu ft per sub. I'm kinda leaning towards the Pioneer's since I can get them wholesale for like $60 and they are pretty efficient I believe. The only subs I have ever actually heard is the XLC and I really couldn't test it much since it was at BestBuy and they were playing Backstreet boys or something like that. I think the MTX 5000's are pretty sweet but I heard they aren't too efficient and I'd need a bigger amp, but that's out of the question. I'd appreciate any help and even recommendations for other subs as long as they are around $100 each or less and I'm really set on keeping that dual 12" box I already got.

Thanks...

All those choices seem decent although I like the XLC the best. In that box you could even port them if you wanted.

Oh, the 75.2 will deliver more like 400 watts into a 2 ohm mono load. Have fun!

Cool! Didn't know if the Punch 75.2 would actually put out that much. The XLC's kinda had an advantage because I want to keep stuff the same instead of having 25 different brands of stuff in my car. Have to check up on the XLCs.

The JLw3's are are a sweet sub, but they are way over $100. I wood go with JLw0, or JLw1 for that kind of money.
