are people having so many problems with these amps because there not feeding enough current to them? I got a line on these for a deal but I dont like what I see written about them.

Well from what I can deduce it looks like there was a string of bad ones (maybe cranked them out the door too fast...)
Also, people tend to buy these monsters for the sole reason of running the snot out of them - guaranteeing a high failure rate. And with the power these things put out I bet that lots of charging systems are struggling to support them.
While it does seem that the non-resettable (for the most part) protection is a bad idea, I don't necessarily think the amps are all bad.

Ok, from what i can gather about MMats is this: I actually like my D300HC and wouldnt mind some more of them but my dealer became stripped of his rights to them and will no longer be able to carry them and I won't go to the other shop in town to get one because they want 1000 for them and I dont like the other guys because they arn't personal with their customers. There was a bad string of them with a small failure in it. Mine actually lasted a long time running my 4 15s but one day my power wire came disconnected from my front battery so it was only running off the back and the back wasn't able to get charged and dropped below 9 volts, which caused the amp to go into protect. It had to get sent back in for repairs. But all in all, i think they are nice amps.

Dukk - Thumpin, Thanks for the reply on the Ques. My (friend) dealer just got a D-200back from the factory. They had it 8 days and it was back. The factory rep said the problem is in the board and the new amps are corrected before they leave. Peace
