HAMPTON, Ga. - Loudest woofers? Clearest audio? KICKER soundoff competitors rolled again, this time taking trophies at the IASCA World Finals (International Auto Sound Challenge Association), and USACi (U.S. Autosound Competition International) and dB Drag Racing regionals. It all was part of the intense action going down at the 2007 NOPI Nationals, on the infield of the Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend.
Chad Romano (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) and his KICKER-infused Dodge Neon were big winners, finishing as the Sound Quality champion in his USACi Consumer class and in the NOPI Nationals Neon Car Show.
Tim and Alison Brown (Mount Airy, Ga.) took the championship in the USACi Sound Quality Intermediate class with their SUV's system featuring a pair of Solo-Baric L7 subs and KICKER amps. The Browns also grabbed fifth in IASCA World Finals SQ Semi-Pro.
Carlton Price, representing Circuit City (North Augusta, S.C.), earned the championship in dB Drag Racing SPL Street, blowing everyone else away with 12-inch CompVX subwoofers in his hatchback Honda CRX.
Taking a pair of rumbling 10-inch SoloX subs into the SPL lanes, Michael Nauta placed third in the IASCA World Finals IdBL Stock Pro class.
Also, Milton Fisher (Gainesville, Ga.) and his van earned fourth place with a Solo-Baric L7 sub and ZX amps.
At the KICKER XRV rig on Vendor's Row, KICKER dealer CN Sounds (Fort Wayne, Ind.) took the Best-of-Elite car show award with its stunning orange dreamsicle Dodge Charger.
